IBR Staff Writer Published 27 July 2011

Kiln, an international insurance and reinsurance underwriting group and a member of Tokio Marine Group, has introduced a new aviation unit in Singapore to underwrite aviation risks.

Kiln said that aviation team in Singapore, will be led by Brendan Warner and it will focus on a range of aviation risks throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including: regional airline, general aviation, products and airport liability, hull war, hull deductible and excess liability.

The team will operate with a $80m line size for liability and $12m for Hull risks.

Warner will join Kiln with 33 years of aviation insurance industry experience, and will work alongside underwriter, Jenny Choi, with whom Warner worked for the past five years in the Australian aviation market.

Warner and Choi will be supported by Idie Si, an underwriting assistant who recently relocated from Kiln's office in Hong Kong.

The formation of new team follows its recent recruitment of a number of property, treaty, marine hull and marine liability underwriters to Kiln in Singapore in the past year.

Kiln regional managing director Neil Wray said this latest move supports the aim to enhance distribution network and product portfolio in line with our dynamic growth strategy.
